Where are we?
Our Region We are in Spain, and as they it say in the song, it's a land of sun and pleasures. Our region belongs to the Comunidad Valenciana and is situated between the provinces of Valencia and Alicante. Our area is one of the most mountainous in Spain, even though they are not the highest, do not be fooled, these are steep and rugged mountains with big slopes where we'll find climbs with grades up to 22%. |
Arrival Day
International flights can be taken to either Valencia or Alicante airports, from here you’ll transfer to Oliva Nova Golf Hotel, in Oliva is included. This Night's accommodation is included in your itinerary. ACCOMMODATION Oliva Nova Golf Hotel Start Town Oliva is a municipality in the Comarca of Safor in the Valencian Community. To its east lie 10 kilometers of coastline and beaches fronting the Mediterranean Sea. Oliva's Old Town has historical streets which see various fiestas celebrated throughout the year. In the old town there are two churches, Sant Roc and Santa Maria la Major. Sant Roc dates from the 18th-19th centuries, and Santa Maria from the 17th-18th centuries. At the top of the hill in the old town is Santa Anna Castle which was built in the 16th century. |
Day 1
Oliva - Oliva Today we'll head to the coast along winding rolling roads that will provide great opportunities to view the Mediterranean Sea from various locations, with two amazing balconies, at Cabo de San Antonio and the mountain pass of La Fustera. We’ll continue inland in search of the mountain pass of El Rafol where this climb will give us spectacular views over the Marjal Pego-Oliva Natural Park.

Day 2
Oliva - Castell de Castells On our second day of riding, we’ll leave Oliva along the undulating foothills of the Marina Alta. We'll ride through the wine valleys and head into the mountains. On the ascent of the first major mountain pass we’ll see the Ifach Rock, an imposing block of rock 332 meters high which guards the Mediterranean. Experiencing the local culture will be high on our agenda as the resting place for the night, Castell de Castells, lies within a beautiful village located on the top of the Valle del Pop.

Day 3
Castell de Castells - Castell de Castells Today’s ride tackles some of the famous Vuelta a España roads in the area, with the steepest gradients reserved for the first climb, Coll de Rates, which takes us above 900m for the first time. During the long climb to Confrides we arrive at the picturesque Guadalest crowned by the San José castle (XIth century), one of the Marina jewels. Afterwards we'll head deeper into the Valle de Ceta to finish in Castell de Castells.

Day 4
Castell de Castells - Margarida Tired legs and more climbing are on the agenda today, to give us a challenge we return again into the mountains. Today we'll visit remote places in the Valencian region like La torre de les Maçanes a small village crowned by an Almahade tower of the XIIth Century. After scaling this climb and we'll continue crossing tiny villages up to Planes, a village which was built on the hillside of the Muslim castle of Al-Azraq in the XIIth Century, which now days is in ruins. Our dinner tonight is at l'Almasserà Roural House and is often one of the highlights of the trip.

Day 5
Margarida - Margarida A big day with winding roads in the hills, showing the best Natural Park of the inland regions, with 17,000 hectares Serra de Mariola is an authentic paradise for flora and fauna. We'll finish the day rolling around the reservoir of Beniarres and climbing the pass mountain of "Planes" to arrive to Margarida.

Day 6
Margarida - Oliva A fantastic day in the saddle where we'll show you the hidden climbs of the region - Pla de Corrals and La llacuna. We'll ride the Gallinera Valley through the vertical kilometer, a descent with slopes around 24% and enjoy this beautiful valley full of cherry and almond trees which will carry us back to Oliva on the final stage of our tour.
